Choosing colours for your wedding might be as easy as saying I Do!
But what if it isn't?
Somewhere along your planning journey you'll have to decide on a colour or colour scheme (even if it's only 'all white') Colour can be used in so many area to tie your wedding together and create a Wow factor!
So exactly HOW do you choose a colour scheme if you havent got a clue where to start?
Read on for where you can get your inspiration...
Favourites - Do you or your partner have a favourite colour? See if you can use it in your colours! If your parners colour is not quite to your taste try and incoporate it as a highlight colour rather than the main scheme.
Seasons - Some seasons have their own colours, think spring pastels, muted autumn tones,Work with these to create a colour scheme that compliments nature. If you also bear in mind what flowers will be in season this can bring down your costs.
Venue Highlights - Visit your venue or look at photos to see if any colours stand out? Do they have a beautiful bright red door? a dark purple carpet that leads down the grand staircase? Or a pale pink climbing rose that frames the entrance? If you use this as one of your colours then everything will look fantastically 'right' with minimum effort!
Flowers - If you have a favourite flower, use that as inspiration. But if you plan to use Bright orange gerberas for your bouquets, don't choose orange dresses too, choose a complimentary colour that will show off that orange. Think colour scheme (3 -4 colours) not 1 colour.
Trends - Normally I'd say steer clear of trends when it comes to your Wedding BUT if you really don't hae a clue where to start they are a good place. Look at wedding blogs and magazines for inspiration. Check out the Pantone colour of the year, this is where retailers take their cue from and it'll be alot easier to find accessories in this colour or to coordinate with it.
