How do you get motivated when you're really not feeling it?
If you're planning a wedding then you'll never be short of things to do, but what if you just can't get your get up and go to tackle it?
I've pulled together 5 easy ideas to jump start your motivation, click below to see what they are...
Make a List & Plan today - How are you going to know what needs doing if you haven't written it down. Jot down all the jobs that need to go on your to-do list! Now, what is it you want to achieve today? Do you want to book your florist, get quotes from suppliers, or arrange visits with your 2 top choices?Write down exactly what you want to get done; What steps you need to get there and how long you expect those to take. Now plan what you will do in the time available today.
Book Time - The best starting place is to plan the time to get started on it. If you have a days notice then schedule time in your calendar to work on the task, block out however long you need to either get it done or to at least get a respectable chunk done. If you just can't get the motivation to get started on that task, right now, then pick a starting time. 11:06 now? Agree to start at 11:15 or 11:30 and promise yourself you'll start then - no excuses! Set an alarm if need be.
Forgive yourself - If this is something that's been on your To-do list for a loooong time then you may have a ton of guilt to get over first (what about the amount of time you've not done this) Forgive yourself for not starting earlier, wipe the slate clean and start now.
Prepare - before your start time begins you'll need to prepare a little, try these:
Start with Something - Sometimes the first step is the hardest. Look at your list and pick off a nice simple task to begin with, ideally something that doesn't need any outside input that leaves you stuck until you hear a reply. Need to find names of local bridal stores and their contact details? That sounds perfect... google here you come!
So now you know how, there's no excuse! Go, go, goooo!!!
