Oh my lordie - you're getting Married!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow everything is sooo exciting and your head is spinning with ideas :) So where do you start? From telling the folks to making wedding decisions make sure you do it the right way...
Show off that ring - But make sure you’ve given your hand a bit of loving first! Before you show it off first give your hands a pampering at home, or book a manicure.
Tell your family & Friends - If you can, tell your parents in person. Ring relatives and super close friends, then, and only then, post that update on facebook, instagram or twitter. That way, your dear old nan won’t hear it second hand at the post office from Joan down the road.
Set a ‘kinda’ date - I guarantee as soon as you tell everyone you are engaged you’ll get a ton of ‘when’s the big day’ questions! There’s no need to decide an actual fixed date right now but agree on an answer to tell interested friends & family… ‘We’d love a Spring Wedding’ ‘later this year’ and ‘as soon as Sarah finishes University’ are all good types of replies.
Get inspired - Now’s the time to let your wedding excitement go wild! Read wedding blogs, spend hours on instagram and start a Pinterest board with all your favourite wedding ideas on. Take it all in, pin all the ones that take your interest and you'll soon see a bit of a theme emerging .... this will also save you time when you start planning your wedding!!
Start a weddings saving account - Even before you decide to start planning your wedding start a savings account for it and regularly put money aside for your wedding. Then when you are ready to set a budget you’ll have a head start on reaching your target!
Engagement Photoshoot - If you’ve started cruising Instagram and Pinterest for ideas I’m sure you’ll have come across engagement shoots. Not only do they capture this fantastic stage in your journey as a couple they are also a great way to see what kind of photographer resonates with you for the big day!
Most of all - Enjoy this special time!! And when you are ready to start planning that wedding comeback to the blog for lots of tips and advice!
