After you've spent several hundred hours on Pinterest pinning all the gorgeous bouquets and floral installations you are going to have to talk to and meet a real life florist at some point to get those dreams into actual bouquets and floral arches.
Chances are your mind will go blank as soon as you sit down to chat! So here are my 5 top things to discuss with them and actual useful questions you can ask them....
Availability - Are they available on your date? Will you be the only wedding that date? Will it be the florist you are talking to on the day or an assistant? Also ask about what flowers will be available on your date, what's in season? Using seasonal flowers can help you bring down costs and help give a more natural feel.
Budget - How much do they charge? No two weddings are the same so they might not have set prices but ask if they can give you a guideline. If there is a gap between what you want and what you can afford, ask if they can recommend areas that you could save money on or flower substitutions that could help bring down the cost. Do they have a minimum charge for weddings?
Location - Are they close enough that you can have a face to face chat? If not can you skype? Have they worked at your location before? Do they have suggestions & photographs?
Style - How would the florist describe their style? Does it match the look and feeling you are going for? If you haven't decided can they talk you through a few options to help you decide? Can they suggest any elements that would reflect your theme?
Recommendations - Can they recommend anything that would suit your wedding style & budget? Do they have reviews and recommendations from other couples? Can you see them?
Once you've asked all these you should start to have a pretty good idea of what you can get for your budget and if THIS florist is a good fit for you!
