What car would you turn up to your wedding in? When Jodie posted this on her insta page and replied 'a classic beetle' alongside a stunning photo she'd taken of Hettie at one of our recent weddings I just knew she was our type of gal!
What better way to kick off our new Supplier Spotlight feature where I'll be introducing you to some fab wedding suppliers we've met along our journeys...
Sea of Love Photography
Jodie runs Sea of Love Photography alongside her fiancee Carley. Based in Bristol they cover most of South West. Alongside Wedding photography they also offer family & pet shoots.
What venues & couples do you LOVE to work with?
My last wedding was at Kings Weston House in Bristol, for Laura & Kieran’s wedding day. They were great and a fun couple to shoot. I had the pleasure of working along side Iona Taberham as second shooter. Take a look at her work too, she is amazing! Also this was where I met Hettie the beetle from LoveBug wedding cars and captured a beautiful shot with Hettie and the happy couple! Was a great day and I had so much fun! I also shoot in and around Bristol as I also love landscape photography.
How would you describe your style?
Our style is very relaxed, we don’t make our clients do anything they don’t want to do. We just capture the moments as they unfold, which we feel tells a more natural story of the day.
Tell me a little about yourself, who is the person behind the brand? What do you like to do in your spare time?
Me and my partner Carley (who also helps out with the brand) love to get away whenever we can in our camper van called Bertha! We’re always looking for another adventure and try to travel as much as we can. We love going down to the coast (if you haven’t noticed by our brand name) and unwind which is mostly weekends.
We have our own wedding booked in at Lusty Glaze in May 2020 which is a beautiful venue on the beach in Newquay! Our next trip is to Durdle Door and we can’t wait to escape there for a few days!
What advice would you give couples looking to book someone in your field?
Make sure you do your research and pick a handful of photographers you have taken a liking to. Don’t be hasty! As a photographer is the only one that can provide you with memories of the day for you to look back on. If your looking for photos of your wedding day with a relaxed look then take a look at our website and the packages we provide. We have a lot of info on our website and there is a section about us where you can have an idea of who we are. We find it really important that we get to know our couples and for them to get to know us before booking and discuss what their wedding day involves. This way we can provide photos that reflect the couple as we unfold their story. We create photos that they can look back on of the biggest day of their lives and memories that they will cherish forever.
What questions would you suggest couples ask potential photographers?
Jodie's availability is looking good for the year ahead. Their bookings have just started up with spring approaching, and a few booked in already. Jodie has her first family shoot of the year this weekend and can’t wait to get started! Book now if you want to get your date booked in!
